If you want to have a website, you need hosting. Hosting is the hardware that connects your website to visitors. The requirements are more than most home and office computers can handle. Beyond the security benefits, visitors will be able to load your site more quickly with a dedicated host.

Most end in either ".com" or ".org". "Google.com" would be the domain name for the search engine Google. Without this, clients would have to type an archaic set of numbers to reach your site.
